A learning management system (LMS) is a software application used by schools and organisations to deliver, track, report and document educational courses online. Learning management systems emerged in the 1990’s in higher education from elearning and are now commonly used in business organisations for training and reporting purposes. Schools are now using LMS to deliver a flipped classroom and more recently where a need for online learning is a necessity. A learning management system makes it possible to create and store documents or a whole course in the one place and make copies for each individual. This information can then be accessed by teachers for reuse or students for review. The system allows you to record grades and track progress of students which can then be shared with chosen parties.
