Biography

Sunwoo Lee is a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Computer Engineering at Inha University. Prior to joining Inha, he was a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Southern California (USC), working with Prof. Salman Avestimehr in the viTAL Lab. He received his Ph.D. in 2020 from Northwestern University, where he was a member of CUCIS and was advised by Prof. Alok Choudhary and Prof. Wei-keng Liao. He earned his M.S. and B.S. from Hanyang University, South Korea. Before his Ph.D., he worked as a system software researcher in the Memory Division at Samsung Electronics. His research interests lie at the intersection of Machine Learning and High-Performance Computing. Specifically, he focuses on designing, developing, and evaluating large-scale machine learning algorithms that fully utilize available hardware resources.
