About me
About me
I graduated in Forest Engineering from the University of Lleida in 1999. I then moved to France where I completed a MSc in Forest Biology at the University Henri Poincaré (Nancy, 2000), followed by a PhD in Forest Ecology at the Université Blaise Pascal (Clermont-Ferrand, 2003). Afterward, I spent two years as a postdoctoral researcher at the Centre for Forest Research (2004 and 2005) at the University of Québec at Montréal (UQAM), and ten years as senior researcher at the Forest Science and Technology Centre of Catalonia (CTFC).
In 2016 I joined the University of Lleida, where I currently teach Silviculture in the BSc Forestry Program at the School of Agrifood and Forestry Engineering and Veterinary Medicine (ETSEAFiV). I also coordinate the ADAPTAFOR research group (ADPATtive management And FORest dynamics), an emerging inter-institutional team of around 20 members from both UdL and the CTFC.
My research focuses on understanding the key factors driving forest dynamics, particularly in Mediterranean regions, and on examining the ability of forest ecosystems to respond to various types of disturbances. I am also interested in how forest management can help mitigate the impact of climate change on forests, ensuring they continue to provide the ecosystem services that societies rely on.
