As the semester is coming to an end, I can say that I personally think I have met the English 1102 outcomes. I have watched myself grow as a writer and as a group leader. For project one I engaged in a planning and writing process that I was not used to at the time, but now it is part of my writing process. My writing process now includes a full draft that I will post, so I can get classmates or friends comments on the piece. The peer review was something that I had not done yet, but now I really enjoy that part of the process. My planning process when it comes to writing anything has grown exponentially due to this class. I hope that all my projects reflect rhetorical awareness. I fully grasped the concepts of each project, and I hope I demonstrated that by fulfilling the purpose of each project.
As the class started working on project three, I noticed I started using many different thinking skills. Making a multi-module project was something I had never done before, so I had to use new thinking skills. I had to converse with my group members and make sure everyone was doing their part as well as focusing on my part. I think the main thinking skills I implemented this semester was analytical thinking.
When it came to the research part of the paper, I truly learned the difference of a scholarly source versus a regular source. Many sources that I used for my projects were in-depth and very informative pieces. When I added them into my project I had to summarize the part that best worked into my project. When it came to citing these pieces, I had to learn how to properly in-text cite. This was another thing that I learned this year that I will take with me whenever I write a paper. Citing in an oral presentation was also something that I learned how to do. Personally I had never made a podcast before, so when you cite you have to be clear and concise. The listeners need to fully understand where you are citing from.
Overall I think I met the standards for this class. I have never been the best writer, but now I think I can classify myself as a writer with lots of experience. There were many different outcomes for this class, and I think I met them.
