Established in 2014, Live Well Madera County (LWMC) is a diverse, multi-sector coalition composed of countywide government, healthcare, education, law enforcement, community-based, and faith-based stakeholders working collectively to enhance community wellness. This partnership grew from a shared commitment to transform local health, guiding Madera County's 2017 Community Health Assessment and implementing targeted initiatives to make healthy behaviors and environments the social norm. Over the years, LWMC has formalized its operations by adopting a structured governing charter and establishing dedicated committees to tackle select health priorities.
LWMC is focused on promoting health by removing systemic barriers, eliminating disparities among historically marginalized groups, and amplifying community voices. By expanding its diverse representation and aligning strategies with updated health data, this coalition aims to actively shape the policy, systems, and environmental changes that will allow all Madera County individuals and families to thrive.
