The Community Health Worker and Promotores (CHWP) committee is focused on increasing the use and visibility of community health workers in Madera County to connect and refer residents to vital health and social services.
To achieve this, the committee is leading a multi-year strategy through 2028 centered on five (5) core areas: strengthening workforce development through provider insights, establishing continuous engagement and peer-learning structures, launching local campaigns, supporting retention and professional development for all CHWs, and expanding the integration of CHWs across healthcare and community organizations.
Priorities:
Strengthen and support the CHW workforce with shared resources.
Build provider collaboration and peer learning through formal engagement.
Attract and retain diverse CHWs into defined career pathways.
Recognize the value and identity of all CHWs, including volunteers.
Advance the integration of CHWs across all clinical and community-based workflows.
