Gretchen is on the Board of the Association of Transcribers and Speech-to-Text providers, a volunteer-run non-profit organization, and has been a TypeWell transcriber since 2006. 

Gretchen's day job is the Communication Access Manager in the Disability Access Center at Western Washington University, where she coordinates live captioning, closed captioning, and ASL services and supervises 10 staff TypeWell transcribers.  Gretchen also serves as a general accommodation manager and supports disabled students and their faculty to ensure an equitable education. 

When not working, Gretchen loves spending time with her family and being outside as much as possible.
