Before preparing an item, check that it is:
Clean
In good condition
Free from stains, holes, or strong odors
Complete
Working properly
Safe for continued use
All merchandise will be inspected at drop-off.
Items that do not meet our standards may be declined.
Visit our What We Accept page before preparing your items.
You set your own prices.
We recommend pricing items to sell, not based on what you originally paid for them.
As a general guideline, many secondhand children’s items sell well at approximately 25–35% of their original retail price, depending on brand, age, condition, and demand.
Use whole-dollar prices only.
For inexpensive baby basics, consider bundling multiple pieces together instead of pricing each item separately.
Higher-end, boutique, designer, specialty, or nearly-new merchandise may be priced higher.
Remember: a slightly lower price that sells earns you more than an expensive item that comes home with you.
Every item must have a completed Little Neighbors Exchange tag attached before drop-off.
Your tag should include:
Consignor code
Brand or brief description
Size, when applicable
Selling price
Do not bring untagged merchandise.
Attach the tag securely using:
A safety pin
A tagging gun
Please do not use straight pins.
Place tags near the top left with the hanger facing like a question mark.
Shoes must remain together as a pair.
Secure them together using a zip tie, ribbon, or another method that will not damage the shoes.
Attach one tag securely to the pair.
Attach tags securely using tape, zip ties, or another appropriate method.
Do not place tape directly on surfaces where removal may cause damage.
If an item includes multiple pieces, secure them together whenever possible.
Find more information on tagging your items here.
Presentation matters.
Clothing should arrive:
Freshly washed
Free from wrinkles when possible
On hangers
Facing the same direction (Hanger is like a question mark)
Sorted by size
Please do not bring clothing folded inside bags or bins.
We want merchandise ready to move directly from drop-off onto the sales floor.
Before drop-off:
Clean and wipe down all surfaces
Install working batteries when needed
Confirm all essential pieces are included
Secure loose accessories
Assemble larger equipment when practical
Shoppers should be able to clearly see what they are buying and confirm that it works.
