The center is one building with two major divisions: the play area and exploration area. Both areas are spacious, clean, and safe for the children.
The play area is fully carpeted and has a variety of toys and books for the children to enjoy. It covers an adequate area and can accommodate up to 20 children at a time. There is a medium-sized play house, a seesaw, and a slide made of durable plastic. There are also cabinets for blocks, puzzles, and other educational toys. The play area has a large collection of big and regular-sized story books, ranging from fairy tales to science fiction. The books are selected to suit the children’s age and interests. The children can read the books on their own or with the help of the teacher or student teachers/interns.
The exploration area has rubberized flooring and is equipped with tables and chairs for the children to sit and work on their assignments. It covers an adequate area and can accommodate up to 15 children at a time. There is also a blackboard along with large charts and work areas for the children to learn new concepts and skills. The exploration area has a washroom and a comfort room for the children’s convenience. There is also a teacher’s corner where the teacher can prepare the materials and monitor the children’s progress. The exploration area has cubbyholes for the children to place their belongings, such as bags, jackets, and lunch boxes. There is also a nap or sleep area where the children can rest for a while after a busy day of learning and playing.
Both the play area and exploration area are properly lit and air-conditioned to ensure the comfort and well-being of the children. The center also has safety features such as fire extinguishers, smoke detectors, a landline, and emergency exits.
