At Little House Piano Studio, lessons are custom tailored to suit students’ particular talents and ambitions. Students study traditional classical piano repertoire from the Baroque Period through the 21st Century, in conjunction with other styles such as new-age, pop, sacred, folk or jazz music.
Twice each school year (January and June), the students of Little House Piano Studio perform in a studio recital at St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Somers, NY on a beautiful seven-foot Steinway piano. All students are encouraged to perform in these recitals and we work together to prepare for the event.
Three performance classes are held each semester at Arts On the Lake, 640 Route 52, Carmel, NY, 10512. These classes are designed to allow students a safe environment to practice performing. Other performing students only are allowed to be in the audience.
In addition to two studio recitals, students also perform in multiple other "out-of-studio" events. As a member teacher of the New York State Music Teachers Association (NYSMTA), District 4, an affiliate of Music Teachers National Association (MTNA), students may perform in a multitude of events: non-competitive performances, graded/evaluated auditions, composition opportunities, written and aural theory exams.
