What age is Little Lit Club for?
Our first Little Lit Club chapter is designed for babies aged 0–12 months and their grown-ups.
What makes Little Lit Club different from a storytime or sensory session?
Little Lit Club brings stories and sensory play together. Each session starts with a children's book, then invites little ones and their grown-ups to explore the story through sensory experiences, music, movement, props and creative play.
The book is the heart of the session, but we don't stop at the pages. With simple prompts and ideas to guide grown-ups, we explore the story in different ways — noticing sounds, textures, movement, colours and opportunities for connection along the way.
It's not about sitting still and listening from beginning to end. It's about stepping inside the story, following your little one's lead and discovering new ways to enjoy books together.
Does my baby need to be able to sit or participate independently?
Not at all! Little Lit Club is designed to be enjoyed together, with parents and carers guiding their little ones through the experiences.
What should I bring?
Just yourselves and your little one! You may like to bring anything you would normally need for your baby, such as a bottle, dummy, change of clothes or comfort item.
Have a copy of the book we’re exploring that week at home? Bring it along if you’d like to!
What happens if my baby needs a feed or a nappy change?
That's completely fine! Babies' needs come first. You're welcome to feed, change, cuddle or step out whenever you need to.
What if my baby doesn't want to participate?
That's okay! There is no expectation that your baby will engage with every activity. You can follow their lead and enjoy the session together in whatever way works for you.
Can I bring a sibling?
Twins or siblings within the 0–12 month age range are very welcome to attend together.
We may also be able to accommodate an older sibling on a one-off basis, where appropriate. As Little Lit Club is designed to be a small, intimate group for babies, we want to keep numbers manageable and the environment comfortable for our youngest participants.
Are the sensory activities safe for babies?
Sensory experiences are carefully selected with our little participants in mind, with age-appropriate materials and activities used throughout the term.
Grown-ups remain with and supervise their little one throughout the session, and we'll provide guidance whenever an activity requires extra care.
How are sensory materials cleaned between uses?
Sensory materials and reusable equipment are cleaned and sanitised between sessions, with materials discarded or replaced where appropriate. Activities are carefully prepared with hygiene and the needs of our youngest participants in mind.
How does Little Lit Club keep children safe?
Your child's safety and wellbeing is our highest priority. Little Lit Club follows child safety, first aid, emergency, hygiene and risk management procedures designed specifically for our sessions. Parents and carers remain with and supervise their child throughout the session.
Where can I find your policies?
Our policies and procedures are available on our Policies & Safety page.
Can I book a casual session?
Little Lit Club is designed as a term-based program, with casual places offered subject to availability.
Booking for the term gives little ones time to become familiar with the space, the session rhythm and the people around them, helping them feel comfortable and confident as the weeks progress.
Each term is also thoughtfully planned as a progressive program, with experiences building gradually throughout. As babies become familiar with the Little Lit Club flow, activities can gently increase in complexity while remaining developmentally appropriate.
We also know that sometimes you might like to try a session to see how your little one enjoys it before committing to a full term. That's why we offer a limited number of casual places when available. We're also working on some special pop-up sessions, so there will be more opportunities to step inside the story!
Most importantly, whether you join us for a single session or the whole term, Little Lit Club is about building connection, exploring through play and creating a love of stories together.
What happens if my baby is unwell?
If your little one is unwell, please keep them home to rest and recover. We want to keep Little Lit Club a happy and healthy space for all our little participants and their families.
If your baby has become unwell after a session please let us know, that way we can let other families know to keep an eye out for their little ones too.
What happens if I miss a session?
The final session of the term provides an opportunity to revisit stories and activities from throughout the term. It won't be an exact repeat of one particular missed session.
What happens if I need to cancel my booking?
Our cancellation and refund policy can be found on our Policies & Safety page.
