The 'Little Forest Foxes' is a preschool program that takes place in a playful and exploratory way. We belief in a holistic and respectful approach regarding ourselves, our fellow human beings and our environment.
Our program includes working and developing in the following areas: Practical Life, Sensorial, Cultural, Math and Language Activities.
Language Development.
The Little Forest Foxes offers a bilingual setting of English and German. There is NO need for your child to speak German to become a part of our group.
Based on the child's language level, speaking opportunities are gently encouraged in a natural fashion in order to introduce the child to the German language.
We do crafts, sing, play and, above all, communicate in English as well as in German.
In touch with nature and it's beings.
Growing up in German Kindergartens, we believe in the concept of free exploratory play. Nature offers plenty to inspire children and their imagination. Whether it's by natural materials like wood, stones, sand and grass, by observing insects or by helping to grow a garden - the nature and what it has to offer is crucial in a child's development.
That's why our day is focused on being outside along with our daily routines of a morning circle and snack time.
In addition, our Little Forest Foxes do not only have the opportunity to see goats, chickens and horses but learn how to respectfully engage with them, understand their care, collect chicken eggs and much more.
We believe there is (almost) no bad weather. Puddles after a rain can be enjoyed as well as a colder breeze - as long as the clothes are appropriate and reflect the weather forecast.
Standards.
Our curriculum is based on the NC DCDEE developmental domains and milestones and American preschool standards combined with the standard in German kindergartens.
All materials are available on site.
However, children are welcome to bring a favorite game (not electronic) to play together or a book to read and introduce to the others.

Die 'Kleinen Waldfüchse' ist ein Vorschulprogramm, das auf spielerische und entdeckende Weise stattfindet. Wir vertreten einen ganzheitlichen und respektvollen Umgang mit uns selbst, unseren Mitmenschen und unserer Umwelt.
Dies geschieht bei uns zweisprachig auf Englisch und Deutsch. Ihr Kind muss kein Deutsch sprechen können, um ein Teil unserer Gruppe zu werden.
Angepasst an das Niveau des Kindes werden Sprechanlässe auf natürliche Weise gefördert, um den Kindern auf motivierende Art die Deutsche Sprache näher zu bringen.
Es wird bei uns gebastelt, gesungen, gespielt und, vor allem, viel auf Englisch, aber auch Deutsch kommuniziert.
Unser Program fördert und ergänzt folgende Bereiche: alltägliche Fähigkeiten, sensorische und kulturelle Erziehung, sowie mathematische und sprachliche Fertigkeiten.
Unser Curriculum orientiert sich an den Meilensteinen der Amerikanischen Vorschule und den Standards in Deutschen Kindergärten.
Alle Materialien stehen vor Ort zur Verfügung.
Es darf aber gerne ein Lieblingsspiel (nicht elektronisch) oder Buch mitgebracht werden, um es zusammen zu spielen oder den anderen vorzustellen.
