Connecting to Media

Dr. Kimberly N. Parker writes about the importance of setting students up for success using culturally relevant literary and teaching practices. By merging intentionality with meaningful curriculum, educators are able to create a space for all students to learn. Parker's ideas felt connected to many other media publications. In this infographic, I connected the themes of the book to other books, journals and podcasts. As they each build off each other, it further stresses the importance of being culturally relevant educators. Lifting up the voices of our students and giving them a space to feel accepted is so important. It isn't until we recognize the potential of every student, that we see meaningful results.
