Reader’s Theatre is a way to involve students in reading aloud. In Reader's Theatre, students “perform” by reading scripts created from language-rich picture books or stories. Usually they do so without costumes or props. Reader's Theatre is a strategy that combines reading practice and performing.
Groups of students are assigned a text excerpt to present to their peers.
Reader’s Theatre is used in First class to enhance reading fluency, vocabulary and comprehension skills.
