Privacy Policy for Listing Auditor for Amazon
Last Updated: April 3, 2026
1. Introduction
The Listing Auditor for Amazon ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how our Chrome Extension collects, uses, and safeguards your information. We value transparency and want you to understand that our tool is designed with privacy in mind. While the majority of data is processed locally on your device, specific advanced features (like AI Visual Auditing and Cloud Database Sync) utilise secure external integrations controlled entirely by you.
2. Information We Collect
We collect minimal personal information, solely for authentication, account management, and user-initiated data syncing/auditing.
A. Personal Information (via Authentication)
When you choose to log in to the extension, we access basic profile information via secure OAuth2 protocols:
Google Login: We access your Name and Email Address via Google's OAuth2 service to personalise the interface and verify your user tier.
Microsoft Login: We access your Name and Email Address via Microsoft Azure AD to personalise the interface and verify your user tier.
B. Usage Data & Scraped Content
Web Content: The extension scrapes public product data (such as prices, titles, images, and reviews) from Amazon pages you visit. This extraction happens locally within your browser.
Clipboard Data: If you use the "Paste Links" feature, the extension reads text from your clipboard only when you explicitly click the button.
User-Uploaded Images (Visual Audit): If you use the AI Visual Audit feature, you may upload local "Target Images" into the extension. These images are temporarily converted to Base64 formats in your browser's memory.
C. Cloud Integration Data (Spreadsheet Sync)
If you choose to use our "Spreadsheet as Database" features:
Google Sheets: We require read/write access to your Google Spreadsheets (https://www.googleapis.com/auth/spreadsheets) to fetch your active catalogue rules and sync audit results back to your personal Drive.
Microsoft Excel Online: We require read/write access to your OneDrive files (Files.ReadWrite) to fetch your catalogue and sync audit reports (.xlsx files) to your Microsoft account.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following specific purposes:
Authentication: To securely log you in via Google or Microsoft and maintain your session.
Feature Access: To unlock specific features (such as Bulk Auditing or unlimited exports).
Cloud Sync: To perform two-way synchronization, reading your "Golden Record" expectations and writing audit results directly to your personal Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel Online accounts.
AI Visual Auditing: To perform "Three-Way Visual Matches," temporarily transmitting your provided reference images and live Amazon image URLs to third-party AI vision models to detect compliance discrepancies.
Auto-Remediation: To dynamically generate compliance fix documents (e.g., Inventory Flat Files) locally on your machine.
4. Data Sharing and Disclosure
No Sale of Data: We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal identification information, scraped data, or internal catalogues to others.
Cloud Function Middleware (AI Auditing): When you run an AI Visual Audit, your image data is securely transmitted to our backend Cloud Function. We do not store this data. Our server acts strictly as a secure pass-through to authenticate your request and forward the images to trusted Multimodal AI providers (e.g., OpenAI or Google Gemini) for analysis. The AI providers do not use this data to train their models.
User-Initiated Cloud Transfers: Data synced to Google Sheets or Excel is transmitted directly from your browser to Google or Microsoft APIs. We do not intercept or store this catalogue data on our own servers.
Authentication Providers: Authentication is handled directly by Google and Microsoft. We do not see, process, or store your passwords.
5. Data Security
We implement a variety of security measures to maintain the safety of your personal information:
OAuth 2.0: We use the industry-standard OAuth 2.0 protocol for all authentication.
Local Processing: Text-based data extraction, Auto-Remediation file generation, and Listing Quality Score (LQS) calculations happen strictly within your browser's isolated environment.
Secure API Bridges: All AI Visual Audit payloads are sent over encrypted HTTPS connections to secure cloud endpoints that validate your OAuth token before processing.
No Local Image Bloat: User-uploaded images for Visual Audits are kept in temporary memory and are not permanently saved to your browser storage.
6. Network Settings & Proxies
We value your control over your browsing experience. Our extension includes features to modify your network settings (specifically Proxy and User-Agent configuration) only under the following strict conditions:
User Action Required: Network modifications are only active when you explicitly initiate a scan.
Local Storage: Any proxy credentials you enter are stored locally on your device. We do not transmit these credentials to our servers.
Automatic Cleanup: The extension automatically reverts your Proxy and User-Agent settings to the system default immediately after a task completes.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
Revoke Access: You can revoke the extension's access to your Google Account (via Google Security settings) or Microsoft Account (via Microsoft App permissions) at any time.
Clear Local Data: You can clear your synced catalogues and cached data at any time using the UI buttons within the extension.
Uninstall: You can stop all data collection immediately by uninstalling the extension from Chrome.
8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date.
