The importance of needs assessments is crucial to school counseling and school counseling programs. They provide insight to what students are struggling with and allows counselors to develop tools, services, and their curriculum to address these concerns. The goal of needs assessment and data are to help educators and school counselors identify, understand, and prioritize the needs of students that schools must address to improve performance and help every student be successful.
