Carried out monitoring and evaluation for a Prevention of Mother-to-Child HIV transmission (PMTCT) project implemented in 32 maternities in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). Developed evaluation protocol and data collection instruments, as well as all supporting project-related documents and reports, for primary HIV care and treatment project targeting HIV positive women identified through PMTCT activities, their HIV-exposed newborns, former TB patients and the first-line relatives of these index patients.

Performed data analyses including analyses of census data, and literature searches, assisted in development and preparation of manuscripts and grant applications, and provided support services for research projects.

Served as a research assistant on the following activities: co-developed a manuscript that examined suicide precursors among women as well as examining gaps in surveillance of female suicide in North Carolina; data analysis for the Center’s Women Self-Protection Project, a national survey on self-protective practices among women; data analysis and report writing for the 2001 North Carolina Domestic Violence Service Providers Survey. Prepared backgrounds papers on multiple home safety topics for 2003 Home Safety Council Technical Advisory Board Summit. Evaluated workshops targeting professionals who address the problem of youth suicide in North Carolina.
