While Zotero stores all data locally on your computer by default, Zotero's sync functionality allows you to access your Zotero library on any computer with internet access. Zotero syncing has two parts: data syncing and file syncing.

The first step to syncing your Zotero library is to create a Zotero account (which is also used for the Zotero Forums). Then, open the Sync pane of the Zotero preferences and enter your login information in the Data Syncing section.

Data syncing syncs library items, but doesn't sync attached files (PDFs, audio and video files, images, etc.). To sync these files, you can set up file syncing to accompany data syncing, using either Zotero Storage or WebDAV.

Zotero Storage is the recommended file sync option. It has several advantages over WebDAV syncing, including syncing of files in group libraries, web-based access to PDFs and other attachments, easier setup, guaranteed compatibility, and improved upload performance for certain files. Each Zotero user is given 300 MB of free Zotero Storage for attached files, with larger storage plans available for purchase.

If, for whatever reason, you are unable to use Zotero's syncing features, there are some alternative ways to sync your data, though there are significant risk and limitations depending on the approach that you choose.

I recently upgraded my Linux Mint 19 desktop with a fresh install of Linux Mint 20.1. Dropbox worked brilliantly on Mint 19. After the Mint upgrade and installing Dropbox via the Software Manager, my existing 100GB of files downloaded/synced from the server with no problem. However, new files or folders I create on this computer and save to the Dropbox folder are not uploading and syncing. I have tried uninstalling Dropbox, rebooting, and reinstalling (from both the repository and the Dropbox website), with the same result. I have double-checked that all folders except Vault are checked in Selective Sync under Preferences. I get no error messages. The pop-up menu from the icon in the system tray says it is syncing, and the icon has constant spinning arrows, but nothing seems to be happening. New files do not show up in Dropbox online.

I have a second desktop also running Linux Mint, and Dropbox has been syncing on it with no problem for many months, both with an install of 20.1 using the same .iso image I just used on this machine, and more recently after upgrading to 20.3. I can't figure out any differences between the Mint and Dropbox installations. I just experimented creating a new file and folder on that second machine, and it uploaded via Dropbox and synced to my phone right away, but not to this problem desktop.

I had not done the Advanced Re-installation; I only removed dropbox by right-clicking Dropbox in the GUI panel main menu and selecting uninstall, then reinstalled it (I tried multiple uninstalls and reinstalls using both the .deb package downloaded from the Dropbox site, and installing using the Software Manager). However, I've now completed the Advanced Re-installation steps, unfortunately with the same results: the program says it is syncing but it's not. Thanks again!

Happy to have you jump in, Hannah. I don't know if you'll be able to zoom in on this screenshot enough to be helpful, but I'll try to answer your questions. Dropbox has been stuck on the same number of files in its folder (702,013 and 502 hidden totaling 109.3 GB) all day, not syncing a new folder and file I created on my other desktop last night, nor has it ever uploaded to the server a few new files and folders I created on this computer yesterday. When I hover over the icon it only says "Dropbox", but I captured the popup menu (that shows up with a right or left click) in the screenshot, which shows it supposedly "syncing..." with the spinning arrows on the icon. The Dropbox version according to the preferences window is v146.4.4836. Hope this is helpful.

For anyone else having similar issues on Mac OS, check your file types for anything that is a bundle type (like an .app or something), and Open Contents on those files to check the file structure in there. If it's relatively deep/complex, it might be what's causing your files to stall syncing.

This has been occurring for weeks. Only occurs on my Mac, the app gets stuck syncing a single file after I sleep my MacBook Pro more than twice. The only solution is to quit the application, and reopen it.

None of the restarting stuff fixed my syncing issues.

Eventually I discovered that in the phone app under you > settings(gear icon)> Applications, Services, and Devices, that my Apple Watch was missing. Once I added it back, syncing started working again. Not sure how it was removed, but there you go.

A message on the ReadyNAS Admin page is telling me "The ReadyNAS is currently syncing. During this process, the system is still accessible; however, performance and Admin Page responsiveness might be impacted".

Hi there, I have problem with Figma not syncing previously activated adobe font in an already existing project. I signed in adobe creative cloud and also in adobe profile on adobe.com, restarted Mac several times and it is still to working. Is there anything else I can do? Does anyone have the same issue with font sincing? Thanks

I have setup two vaults, one private and one work.

The md files syncs to work computer, work phone, and private phone from my private pc.

But no other settings or plugins at all.

This was a big reason for me to pay for sync, to not have to bother with syncing settings on 4 devices.

Hi @bob39722, sorry about the issues you're seeing. It sounds like there was previously an issue with the extension syncing to our server and saving your logins. Now it sounds like the extension is trying to connect with the 1Password app to unlock. Could you try the following to re-sync your account, reset the extension's connections to the app, and see if it helps?

Glad to help! Thanks for sharing the system info. I've sent you a message directly, and I'll send another in response to your post. If you are syncing at a 300 ppi with a lot of data (or with a larger map), the ppi is likely the culprit. Especially since you were able to eventually sync. With vector data, increasing the ppi will increase the amount of vertices - which are treated as "anchor points" in Adobe Illustrator. Adobe Illustrator reads each individual anchor point as it renders vector artwork (map features, in this case). So even for a straight line, where you'd only need two anchor points, increasing the ppi will likely increase the amount of anchor point amount to a much higher than needed value. This can also bloat the size of your AI file. You may want to try with 96 ppi and incrementaly increase if you find that you need more. (Side note: I always use 96 ppi with my syncs). Another tip - If your map is large, sync fewer layers at a time. Some data on ArcGIS Online is super dense and heavy, and syncing those layers by themselves will help sync time. Keep me posted on how this goes, @MarcoOrlandi !

I don't know why assignments are syncing but the grades are not. One good place to start with investigating this issue is to run a Remster Sync in the course. If there is an issue syncing the grades, an error should be listed once it completes from within the grade sync area of the course in question. If your school is a Canvas managed SIS, Canvas support can try to track down what might be causing it based on the error that is being reported.

Automatic syncing is the quickest and easiest option: it updates your device to match your iTunes library whenever you connect the device. You can select which items are automatically synced (for example, your entire library or just certain playlists). And you can still manually add most types of content to your device (including songs, movies, TV shows, and podcasts).

Manual syncing lets you drag items to your device individually, which can take longer but gives you more control. You can still have podcast content sync automatically, even if you sync other items manually.

I understand this is a syncing problem and so I have tried deleting the entries in the markers table from both OpenMRS and OpenELIS database, but this has no effect. There is still no syncing happening.

For my case, I deleted the markers and they get filled up again. However syncing is still not working. Then I tried reinstalling bahmni-lab-connect package. However after reinstall now the markers do not get filled up anymore.

The git remote command is one piece of the broader system which is responsible for syncing changes. Records registered through the git remote command are used in conjunction with the git fetch, git push, and git pull commands. These commands all have their own syncing responsibilities which can be explored on the corresponding links.

I'm having the same problem, my last succesful weigh-in was 9/8 at 6:58 AM CST, I've tried changing networks. The scale seems to be communicating with the network but isn't recording stats in my account. The app shows that it's syncing, my thought is that this is a back end issue and I'd appreciate a fix.

Ciao Guys. This seems to be a 2015 thing, but now on 4.10.4 I am having the same problem, all the learn projects (Reflections, stylized Rendering) are stuck on syncing. Tried all the steps and nothing worked. Are there any solutions around? Do you want a zip folder?

We've been using Office 365 since May 2017 and syncing with company iPhones has generally been smooth. I use the Outlook app for email, and the native iOS Contacts/Calendar apps. Last week we enable MFA. There was a bit of a hiccup getting the mail to flow to mobile devices again, but we seem to be past that. However i just realized that my phone calendar was not updating with new additions made on my PC. Further testing showed the calendar syncing was dead too. Based on a recommendation in post i saw (sorry lost the details), I removed and re-added the Office calendar on my phone. It wiped all of those appointments (no surprise), but will not sync them back. I know i can use the Outlook calendar, but prefer the native app to show other personal calendars. Also, it does not solve the problem of syncing my 3,500 work contacts. Solutions? e24fc04721
