HRS 2 Students Showcase Bread and Pastry Production Skills Through Dessert-Making Examination
Nine students from the Hospitality and Restaurant Services (HRS 2) program of Miriam College Skills Development and Technical Education Center demonstrated their culinary knowledge and practical skills during their Bread and Pastry Production examination.
Working in groups, the students prepared a selection of desserts that highlighted their creativity, teamwork, and application of food preparation techniques. One group prepared Buko Pandan with Sago and Camote Pie, combining a refreshing Filipino dessert with a traditional sweet pastry. The other group showcased their skills through the preparation of Pineapple Pie, featuring a fruit-based filling encased in pastry.
The examination provided the students with an opportunity to apply the competencies they developed in class, from ingredient preparation and proper food handling to presentation and product quality. It also highlighted the importance of collaboration, time management, and attention to detail in food production.
Through hands-on learning and practical assessments, Miriam College SDTEC continues to support students in developing the technical skills and confidence needed to prepare for future opportunities in the hospitality and food service industries.
