• 2025 – 2027 (expected): AI-Driven High-Performance Algorithms and Tools for Stability-Constrained Optimization in Modern Electric Power Systems, supported by the 2025 PRISE (Panther Research & Innovation for Scholarly Excellence) Grant Program.

Accomplishment of the Team:  One of 12 North American universities selected to work on the Battery Workforce Challenge program                      

• 2022 – 2023: U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) ARPA-E Grid Optimization Competition (Challenge 3)

Accomplishment of the Team: 1st Prize with $645,000 grant from the USA DOE     

• 2021 – 2022: U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Solar Decathlon

Role: advised a team of students at Jackson State University (JSU) 

Accomplishment of the Team: One of 10 teams selected as the finalist in the Office Building Division and invited to present at the USA DOE national lab, NREL.
