This past weekend, June 25-26, 2022, we hosted the Fire on the Water Classic Snipe Regatta at the Lincoln Sailing Club site.

Twenty-three teams registered from 6 different states representing 5 different Snipe fleets. Seven teams were scored in the Novice Fleet. Attached are the final results. For those of you not at the lake, it was pretty breezy with winds blowing consistently at 20-25 mph with some gusts, one recorded at 33 mph on Saturday. Only a few teams participated in the first race of the day. So we postponed until about 5:30 and sailed 2 more races, delaying dinner until about 7:30 PM. Thanks to everyone that rolled with it, showing great flexibility with food preparations so we could get in some racing.

Sunday morning brought a little lighter winds, and four races were sailed in winds roughly14-18 mph.

I want to thank everyone that helped get the site looking it's best for our guests, and contributed to the success of the regatta in any way. It takes a lot of people and effort to host a great regatta. We heard lots comments about our great hospitality and that it's the favorite regatta in the District for many of them.

Thanks again!

Looking forward, we'll have regular club races again this Saturday, July 2, with a morning session starting at 10:30 am and an afternoon session at 2 PM. Then on Sunday, July 3, we'll "Experience Sailing", which just means we encourage everyone to come out to sail - no racing or formal event, just enjoy the club-site with your fellow members in whatever sailboats everyone launches. It's an opportunity to get better acquainted with fellow members and hopefully get a chance to sail with some of them in different boats. We'll have a potluck dinner starting at 5:30 PM (club will provide meat and beverages), followed by an after dinner cruise. Hope to see you there!
