Lincoln County Abroad got started in 2025 and is educational and international travel program with students, educators, and parents from all of the high schools and homeschool groups in the Fayetteville/Lincoln County area. Our goals are simple: Through our partnership with EF - Education First - we are able to offer affordable, once-in-a-lifetime, travel opportunities abroad for our students and staff. The programs and tours are designed to make each and every traveler fully immersed in the culture of the chosen destination, while also allowing them to become a global citizen with the confidence, experience, and tools to travel and explore the world on their own.

Hello, my name is Adam Rutledge. I have been an educator since 2010 in both private and public schools, as well as, adjunct at Motlow State Community College where I taught Spanish. I have been leading student travel groups with EF Tours since 2016. My tours have covered 2 continents and 10 countries.
I have enjoyed carrying students and adults abroad over the years. My love of travel came from my Global Studies degree where I did study abroad trips each year. My study abroad trips include London, England; Rome, Italy; and Segovia, Spain.
I really enjoy watching students come out of their shells/comfort zones and thrive. My most recent trip was to Spain where I was able to show my students around the city where I had lived and have them meet my host family.
Countries visited so far with students? – Spain, England, Ireland, France, Germany, Vatican City, Switzerland, Lichtenstein, Costa Rica.
