STEPHEN CHOW
It is with great sadness, Stephen Chow, one of our long attending and founding members of the MItcham taichi club, passed away on 2nd May 2017. After my dad, he had learned with me for many years, more recently completing Liu He Taichi, and talking about demonstrating it in future for Chinese New Year!
He regularly turned up to class and managed to learn many forms, including the 108 Yang Long Form, 24 Beijing Form, 32 Straight Sword from my dad and the 48 Fist and 42 Sword Form from me. He had also learned Wado Ryu Karate and had demonstrated a few techniques in class
A lovely person, with wise, thoughtful advice, he worked as a Chartered Accountant before retiring, and used to talk to me after class on his Christian faith.
He will be sadly missed and our thoughts and deepest condolences go to his family

She very regularly turned up to class and managed to learn many forms, including the 108 Yang Long Form, 24 Beijing Form, 48 Form, 32 and 48 Straight Sword. She also learned Liu He Taichi and had done Tiger Kungfu with me.
A lovely generous character, with a large laugh, she was always positive and will be greatly missed.

We held a Taichi workshop on Liu He Taichi Form
Sunday 26th August 2012 from 1 to 4 pm, at :
Concorde Hall Epsom
Taught by Instructor Stephen Lim, the form is a mixture of
Yang, Chen and Wu style taichi, as well as the internal arts of Bagua, Hsing-Yi and Tong Bei.
The workshop was much enjoyed, and we will do others in future!
KUNG FU WORKSHOP FOR TAICHI STUDENTS -
HUEN KEUN (HUNG GAR) TIGER FORM SUNDAY 5TH AUGUST 2012
On Sunday 5th August 2012, for a group of our taichi students who had learned the 108 Yang Form
we held a Huen Keun (Hung Gar) Tiger Form workshop at :
Concorde Hall Epsom
Taught by Instructor Stephen Lim, the form was taught to introduce the
Taichi students to other forms of Kungfu, which appeared physically harder, and more demanding.
Even though many of them had never done KungFu before, the Taichi students did very well, picking up the form quickly. It appeared through learning the 108 Yang Taichi form (which takes usually more than two years) had helped immensely with picking up the tiger form .
The Workshop was much enjoyed and we hope to do others in future. We may put a video clip of the workshop we did on our site soon.

Tai Chi Taster Class
Many of you have asked to learn Tai Chi so we have arranged for Chief Instructor Stephen Lim to give us a taster class!
Tai Chi promotes increased flexibility, suppleness and exercises the muscles. The smooth, gentle movements also aid relaxation and help to keep the mind calm and focused. These benefits are extremely useful in today's stressful society!
Tai Chi is suitable for all - please wear comfortable clothing and shoes. If you wish to bring a bottle of water to drink, please do but refreshments will be available for a donation.

Stephan came to do a Tai Chi session with Maple Village WI in Surbiton on Monday. It was great, he explained a little of the history of Tai Chi and did a warm up sesssion before moving on to the Tai Chi moves themselves.
Very clear instructions were given for every move we made. A huge Thank You to Stephan for a really great evening.
