THE LATE GRANDMASTER AKIRA LIM

Having first learned Taichi and Silat in Malaysia, Grandmaster Akira Lim was also a Master of Qigong, Karate and Kungfu, teaching in London, England.

He continued his taichi training under many notable masters before teaching taichi for many years.

Notably in Epsom, Weybridge, Cobham, Chessington and Mitcham.

He has many students who themselves are Masters teaching their own classes, and his memory lives on in those students still teaching.

CHIEF INSTRUCTOR

STEPHEN LIM

The son of Grandmaster Akira Lim, Stephen also teaches Kungfu, Karate and Qigong for different organisations, and first learned the arts from his father.

He has also taught Self Defence and Kickboxing classes

Teaching in places past and present such as Weybridge, Epsom, Surbiton, Richmond, Kingston, New Malden, Mitcham.

He still continues to learn under other Masters in China and Malaysia to continue his knowledge

But focuses mainly on what he was originally taught, believing that hard work and practice, as well as quality is more important than quantity

He mainly teaches Yang Long Form 108, 24 Beijing Simplified, 48 fist form, and 32 and 42 Straight Sword, Taichi Broad Sword, Liu He taichi and many forms of different Qigong etc.

He also does Chen Taichi.

SENIOR INSTRUCTORS

DAVID WELLS

David Wells originally learned under Grandmaster Akira Lim, and continued under his son Stephen Lim for the past 10 years.

He has over 20 years of teaching experience, and still attends classes under Stephen, while teaching his own classes in taichi in Epsom and Cobham.

A very experienced and friendly teacher, he too has students who have gone on to teach taichi.

David originally comes from a background in insurance before retiring and has an extensive knowledge of taichi.

MARY HARRISON

Originally learning under Grandmaster Akira Lim, Mary has been attending and continuing in classes with his son Stephen for over 10 years.

An experienced assistant Instructor she has been helping Stephen with the growing of the Weybridge taichi class, and is a valuable instructor in helping students understand Yang Long Form

Originally from a background in speech therapy.

DEVDAN SEN

Devdan Sen, also originally learned taichi under Grandmaster Akira Lim, but has continued to learn taichi under his son Stephen for the last 10 years.

He is also a student of Kungfu under Stephen and has performed for the Chinese Association during Chinese New Year.

He also runs his own classes around Guildford, and attends Stephen's classes on a weekly basis.

Devdan runs his own Publishing Business FlippinImage, when not teaching taichi.
