Recital – June 7th @ 9:30am
Showcase will be at Muscatine High School Auditorium on Saturday, June 7th at 10:00am. All performers need to arrive dressed in first costume, hair and makeup done, and ready to perform at 9:30am. Hair should be in a low bun with middle part for the recital.
Label everything! This ensures that our volunteers know what items belong to who. Performers must have a tub or laundry basket to keep everything together and to put their costume(s) and shoes in. Please bring all your dance shoes in a dance bag. Label the tub or laundry basket with the dancer’s name. This is extremely helpful to keep their things together during/after changes.
For performers with multiple costumes, please be sure you have all the costumes and accessories packed. Please be sure your performer gets their costumes and accessories in order before recital, so they are ready for quick changes.
The doors to auditorium will open at 9:30am. Please wait patiently in the lobby until then.
Hair & Makeup
Stage makeup is encouraged [but not required], the bright stage lights wash out the performers’ faces. If you are unsure how much, use rehearsal as a test for how it looks on stage or ask the office or older performers/parents for help/advice.
Hair should be in a low bun preferably at the base of the head with a middle part. Tumblers may need to go at the top of the head due to certain tumble tricks.
No jewelry allowed, except for the performance earrings that are included with your costumes. No colored nail polishes.
General Information
Please stay seated during the show. There is an intermission during the show. If you must get up during the show, be sure to it between routines, not during.
Please make sure you are not blocking anyone’s view by standing or by children sitting on your lap that sit too tall.
No food or beverages in the auditorium or backstage, expect water.
For the safety of all children, we will ask that you leave your performer in the gym/dressing room with our staff and volunteers. Children going in and out of the dressing makes security for all performers impossible.
Performers will need to stay in the dressing until the end of the show as they all participate in finale. If you need your child before finale due to prior engagements, please let Mrs. Skye Jimenez know so we can arrange this.
Parents, remember that all our kiddos have worked hard the last 10 months to learn some amazing technique and have practiced the last 4-5 months to show you what they learned. It takes a lot of discipline and courage to perform onstage. Give them praise and encouragement for all their efforts. They have done amazing this year!
Tickets
Tickets will go on sale on April 29th until May 24th. Tickets cost is $20.00; there is a $1.00 processing fee per ticket. Seating is reserved.
You do not need a ticket for the performing students. They stay backstage until the end of the show.
All other children must have a seat/ticket unless they are 3 and under.
No refunds. No refunds or replacements for lost or stolen tickets.
Recital Video
We are having the recital professionally videotaped. Individual videotaping will not be allowed. Photos from cellphones, tablets, and other devices with lighted screens and/or flash will not be allowed during recital. The light from the screens lights up the auditorium, negatively affecting the professional video. Additionally, this affects the view of those seated around you and blinds your dancers. Anyone found doing either will be asked to leave.
Your Performance Package fee includes a digital download of the Recital Video.
Attendance
We would like to mention that student attendance is important to the entire class as we get this close to recital. Please try to have your child attend every class when possible. We do understand sometimes there are reasons they can’t make it, and kids to get sick. But please try to understand that outside of illness, missing class does affect the rest of the performers when they are working on recital routines.
