Are group routines mandatory?
Group routines are mandatory for Performance and Pre-Company levels. We require group routines at this level so students can bond and learn to work together as a team.
While we aim for all dancers to perform in a group routine, the availability depends on the number of dancers in each pathway. Duet or trio performances can be considered group routines if necessary.
What happens if there aren't enough members in the Performance or Pre-Company pathway to have a group routine?
The dancer may perform a solo if there are insufficient dancers in a specific pathway.
Why aren't group routines mandatory for company and velocity pathway?
These programs typically attract students engaged in multiple sports who also have a passion for dance and competition. We advocate for our students to engage in and explore various activities. Therefore, we empower them to select the activities they wish to pursue and the competitions they want to participate in. Students in these pathways can select to be in invited group routines. Some invited group dances may consist of duets or trios only.
