The Limestone Academic League provides quality academic competition opportunities for students in 11 counties in northeast and central Kentucky – Bath, Bourbon, Bracken, Clark, Fleming, Lewis, Mason, Montgomery, Nicholas, Robertson, and Rowan. One of the oldest academic competition leagues in Kentucky, the Limestone League was formed in 1985 as a competitive quick recall and written assessment league of teams in the northeastern Kentucky area and currently has a high school membership of 11 schools. The league hosts high school & middle school varsity and junior varsity as well as written composition, FPS, and tournament competitions in the fall.
The Limestone Academic League has a long tradition of preparing teams for the Kentucky Association for Academic Competition’s Governor’s Cup play held in the spring. All the league’s high school members compete in the KAAC’s 10th Region for Governor’s Cup, with the exception of Rowan County (16th Region). The middle school members compete in the 13th Region.
