# Privacy Policy — IronRepLog

IronRepLog is a strength-training logbook: you record the sets, repetitions and
loads of each workout, and the app turns them into personal records, weekly
volume figures and per-exercise trends.
## The short version
Your training data stays on your device. There is no account, no sign-up, and
nothing you log — sets, loads, body weight, personal records — is ever sent
anywhere.
The app does include one third-party component: an install-attribution SDK
(AppsFlyer) that tells us which advertisement or link led you to download
IronRepLog. It runs once at launch and reports installation and device
identifiers, not your workouts. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland the app asks
for your permission before it reads your device advertising identifier, and
declining changes nothing about how the app works.
## Information we collect
We do not ask for a name that identifies you, an email address, a phone number,
a date of birth or any other contact detail. There is no account.
The lifter name and training mark shown on the profile screen are free text and
an icon of your choosing. They are labels on your own log; they are not
verified, not linked to anything, and never leave the device.
What is collected is limited to install attribution, described below.
## Install attribution
IronRepLog uses the **AppsFlyer** SDK to measure marketing. Its only purpose is
to answer "which campaign brought this install?" so we know where to advertise.
It is not used to profile you, and it is not used inside the app to change what
you see.
At launch, and subject to the consent rules below, AppsFlyer collects and sends
to its servers:
- An AppsFlyer ID: a random identifier generated for this installation.
- The device advertising identifier — Google Advertising ID (GAID) on Android.
On iOS no advertising identifier is collected, because the app never presents
an App Tracking Transparency request; the vendor identifier (IDFV), which is
reset when you delete the app, is used instead.
- Install and attribution data: whether this is a first launch or a
re-installation, the referring media source, campaign and click identifiers,
and install and launch timestamps.
- Technical device and network data: device model, operating-system version, app
version, package name, language, coarse country derived from the network, IP
address and carrier.
**Nothing you record in the app is included.** No session, set, repetition,
load, personal record, body-weight entry, profile name, badge or preference is
transmitted to AppsFlyer or to anyone else.
AppsFlyer Ltd. acts as our data processor. Its handling of this data is
described at <https://www.appsflyer.com/legal/services-privacy-policy/>, and the
identifiers it collects are retained according to the policies published there.
## Consent and your advertising identifier
Where the GDPR and the EU Digital Markets Act apply — the European Economic
Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland — the app shows a consent dialog on
first launch, before any advertising identifier is read. The region is
determined from your device's own language and region settings; no location
lookup is performed to decide this.
- **Allow** — attribution runs as described above, and consent for data usage
and ad personalisation is recorded and forwarded to AppsFlyer.
- **Decline** — the advertising identifier is switched off at the SDK level and
is not collected, and a refusal is recorded and forwarded. Attribution is
limited to non-personalised install data.
The choice is stored on your device and remembered. Every feature of the app —
logging, timers, records, charts, badges — behaves identically either way; the
dialog gates advertising measurement only.
Outside these regions the dialog is not shown and attribution runs by default.
To reset the advertising identifier at any time, use your device settings
(Android: *Settings → Privacy → Ads*; iOS: *Settings → Privacy & Security →
Tracking*). Uninstalling the app also ends all attribution reporting.
## Data stored on your device
All of the following is written to the app's private storage area on your phone
(a local Hive database, plus one system preference flag):
- Training sessions: date, start and end time, the movements performed, and for
each set the load, repetitions or hold duration, effort rating and completion
state.
- Personal records: the best load, repetitions, single-set volume and estimated
one-rep max recorded for each movement, and the date each was set.
- Body-weight entries: any weight and note you choose to log, with its date.
- Profile: the lifter name and training-mark icon you pick.
- Preferences: unit (kilograms or pounds), rest-timer length, automatic-rest
switch, weekly set goal and barbell weight.
- Badge progress: which training milestones have been reached.
- A single flag recording that the first-launch introduction has been completed.
- Your answer to the advertising-identifier consent dialog, where it is shown.
## Permissions
IronRepLog requests no runtime permissions — there is no camera, microphone,
location, contacts, photo-library or notification feature to justify one, and
its iOS `Info.plist` contains no usage-description entries.
The released Android manifest declares two install-time permissions, both for
attribution and neither of which produces a system prompt:
- `android.permission.INTERNET` — lets the attribution SDK reach its server.
- `com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID` — lets it read the Google
Advertising ID. It is not read at all if you decline the consent dialog.
## Network use
The logbook itself is fully offline: the exercise library, routines, timers and
charts are compiled into the app and work with no signal at all. Your training
data is never uploaded, and the app has no sync, backup or account service.
The only network traffic the app generates is the attribution SDK's contact with
AppsFlyer's servers at launch, described above. There is no telemetry, no crash
reporting, no remote configuration, no in-app advertising and no content
download.
## Third-party services
One is integrated: **AppsFlyer**, for install attribution only, as detailed in
the "Install attribution" section. There is no analytics SDK, no advertising or
ad-serving SDK, no crash-reporting service and no social login. Every other
dependency is a user-interface, charting or local-storage library that runs
entirely on the device.
## Children's privacy
IronRepLog is a general-audience fitness tool intended for people aged 13 and
over, and it is not directed at children. It does not knowingly collect
information from children. No training data is ever transmitted, and if we learn
that attribution data has been collected from a child under the age applicable
in their jurisdiction, we will delete it — write to the contact address below
and it will be removed from AppsFlyer's records.
## Your rights and control over your data
Because the log lives only on your device, you control it directly and no
request needs to be made to anyone:
- **Access** — everything recorded is visible in the app, on the Progress and
Profile screens.
- **Correction** — any set, weigh-in, name or preference can be changed at any
time.
- **Deletion** — delete an individual session from the History list on the
Progress screen. Uninstalling IronRepLog erases every record it holds,
permanently and immediately.
For the attribution data described above, which does leave the device, you have
the rights granted by the GDPR and comparable laws — access, rectification,
erasure, restriction, portability, and objection to processing. Write to the
contact address below with the request; we will identify the records by your
AppsFlyer ID or advertising identifier and act on it with AppsFlyer. You can
also withhold the data in the first place by declining the consent dialog, and
you can reset or delete your advertising identifier in your device settings at
any time.
We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context
behavioural advertising.
## Changes to this policy
If the way the app handles information ever changes, this document is updated
and the "Last updated" date at the top changes with it. Material changes will
be published here before they take effect in a released version.
