I was elected to be the President of the SPJ Loyola Chapter at the beginning of my sophomore year. In this position I aid in the planning of meetings and coordinate with journalists in the field who come and speak to members of the group. This year, I attended the National SPJ Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada on behalf of the university and I had the opportunity to meet with many of the people who I look up to in the field of journalism.
On top of my writing, I am also a full time student taking the maximum amount of credit hours each semester. I have a major in multimedia journalism with a concentration in print media, and a double minor in political science and criminal justice. I am a part of the honors program at my university, consistently make the Deans List, and have a 3.8 GPA.
