Lilli Malone is a fourth-year multimedia journalism student at Loyola University Chicago and is the Editor-in-Chief at the award-winning school newspaper, The Loyola Phoenix, which she has been writing for since the beginning of her freshman year.
Malone has over 100 bylines at The Phoenix alone. She has worked as a breaking news correspondent at The Daily Herald, a reporting intern for Block Club Chicago, a Communications Specialist at UCLA and an editorial intern at Quotable Magazine in Boston.
Since starting her college career at Loyola, Malone has been a member of the Interdisciplinary Honors Program, maintained course on the pre law track and, with a consistent GPA of 3.7, has made the dean's list each semester while pursuing two minors in criminal justice and political science.
Malone has been nominated for three awards for her reporting at the Illinois College Press Association Awards, including diversity equity and inclusion coverage, best feature and in-depth reporting. As a freshman, Malone was voted in as the Vice President of the Loyola Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists and represented Loyola at the 2023 National SPJ Conference in Las Vegas.
Beyond her written work, Malone has experience in photography, page design and videography.
