I am going into my fourth year, enrolled at the University of Florida on a Biomedical Engineering track. I am in the Honors College and the University Research Scholars Program. My minor is Deaf and Hearing Sciences.
I have been a part of the mechanical team of the UF Innogators organization since Fall '20, the mechanical lead from Spring '21 - '22, and currently the Vice President. Innogators works to create a space of innovation and collaboration by inviting culturally diverse minds and talents to influence the engineering design experience. In this organization I add value to the team with my 3D printing and modeling experiences.
Additionally, I am pursuing a minor in deaf and hearing sciences. I have taken three classes of ASL where I've enjoyed learning about deaf culture and ASL sentence structure. I have continued to self practice and learn with the help of deaf creators online.
In my free time, I enjoy camping, playing soccer, volunteering with children, crocheting, and reading. I use my 3D printer to print designs that I create, such as replicas of buildings or small scale items for my design team. I like to mentor younger friends in school, work, and life.
I hope to make a difference in my time in undergrad through research in a lab, my design team, and internships. Once I've graduated college I want to find a job where I'm helping people while being creative to come up with innovative solutions. My long term career goal is to make a difference in people's lives.
