The goal of this assignment was to critically analyze a Spanish film and the themes represented in this movie. Additionally to focus on the use of different visual aspects portrayed in this movie to further express the conflict. In the movie El Bola, there was an intergenerational conflict between a son and his father consisting of domestic violence. While writing this essay, I was able to gain a better understanding of the movie techniques used in order to portray the power that the father had over his son, while also seeing the son’s point of view and the effects the domestic violence had on him. I learned from this assignment the effects of domestic violence and how to analyze themes in cultural pieces of work. 

The goal of this assignment was to analyze the literary movement, Modernism, and the literary works written at this time. Throughout this essay, I focus on the works of authors, Rubén Darío and Gabriela Mistral and how they portrayed similar themes in very different manners. I learned from writing this essay about the culture of this time and how to differentiate between two literary works with similar themes.
