Much of the magic of weed comes from how it tends to quiet down the latent noise present in one's own brain. This lends itself perfectly for amplifying focus and immersion when playing a competitive and high-stakes game. I especially love sativa strains for their energizing and uplifting effects, which helps me feel more connected to my setup as I can feel every point of contact from my muscles to the hardware. I often get quite tunnel-visioned while stoned, which helps to direct my focus and attention solely to my monitor and minimizes distractions. The brightened colors, increased pattern recognition, and greater creative thinking all lend themselves perfectly to a heightened, near-professional, level of gaming experience. All in all, just take my advice, a nice dab of high quality THC concentrate mixed with a good game to play while high is a combination that is worth more than the sum of its parts!
Weed does, of course, have an accompanying set of effects that tend to impair the individual's ability to play the game as effectively. These include, but are not limited to, sedation, lethargy, delayed reaction time, dulled senses, loss of fine motor skills, panic, panic attack, suicidal ideation, heart complications, and the much dreaded derealization and depersonalization effects. These latter 2 are a real problem when you're pulling all-nighter gaming sessions, as the world around you and even your own existence begins to feel unreal, blurring the lines between what is real in the game world, and your mind, and the physical reality we are manifested in right now. If these effects start to become overwhelming, it is best to simply go and take a nap or go to sleep. Your body and mind needs proper rest in order to function in its most effective state.
Psychosis is always a big issue revolving around discussions on cannabis use, especially in those with predispositions or preexisting mental disorders. Sometimes a "bad trip" on weed can result in lasting effects that lead to violent and aggressive behaviors from individuals who have been repressing these parts of themselves. Marijuana is partially a psychedelic in nature and as such can sometimes bring out aspects of the shadow self that we are not prepared or equipped to face head-on. If you have been hiding a lot of feelings of hatred and disgust for others or yourself, prepare for the weed to bring that directly to the surface and make it nearly impossible to ignore. This is typically only a possibility when interacting with higher dosages of the chemical, but it is good to be wary of the risk for adverse reactions at any level!
