When I started The World Telegram News in 2021, I had one goal in mind. Being one of the only "facts-first" news sources that didn't rely on testimonials, analysis, or opinion hit-pieces to inform audiences.

Apart of that vision, was starting a videotaped tech-oriented news bulletin that mirrored our facts-first image, while simultaneously attempting to appeal to a younger audience. As we continued to finalise the "Lightning News Format", this vision slowly evolved into what Lightning News is today.

Here's an undeniable (but often hard to swallow) truth:

There's no such thing as "my truth" or "your truth". There is an objective truth that can be better understood when put in context with facts and evidence.

Lightning News plans to fufill that role in the best way we can.

We firmly believe that the news is more than flashy (yet often standardized) graphics and dramatic music.

So, instead of spending money in those departments, all of our graphics and music were produced in-house by yours truly.

In return, we aim to reinvest money we earn into Lightning News' news operations to bring better information to our viewers. This money will be spent on things like staff, and equipment to better serve the news to our viewers.

Additionally, we aim to spend money to slowly minimise our reliance on companies like Meta and Google, who are known for their predatory and anti-consumer business practices.

All in all, our viewers remain at the forefront of our focus as an organisation. We hope that we are able to serve our viewers in the best way possible.
