Green clouds are a rare but beautiful type of cloud formation. Green clouds typically form when a type of severe weather event is going to happen, particularly thunderstorms and severe thunderstorms. If the storm contains hail the green tint may even be enhanced. The clouds appear green due to the angle of the light from the setting sun.
