Light Leadership Academy, a professional community service offered through City of Light Church, exists to empower and prepare the next generation through mentorship, leadership development, college and career readiness, and community engagement. Rooted in the principles of servant leadership, we are committed to investing in young people by providing guidance, opportunity, and real-world support that inspires them to lead with character, purpose, compassion, and excellence in every area of life.

Dr. Larry Parker II
Dr. Larry Parker II, MS, DSL, is a higher education leader, educator, author, and community mentor with more than 15 years of experience in student development, leadership education, and youth empowerment. He currently serves as Director of Social and Cultural Engagement, Title IX Coordinator, and International Student Advisor. Dr. Parker earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, a Master of Science degree in Addiction Counseling, and a Doctorate in Strategic Leadership from Liberty University.
He is also the Founder and Program Director of Light Leadership Academy, where he leads initiatives rooted in servant leadership, college and career readiness, mentorship, and community impact. Dr. Parker has published research and professional articles on servant leadership and higher education and is passionate about helping the next generation discover their purpose, maximize their potential, and become leaders within their communities.

Supporting Partners
Although Light Leadership Academy is led by Dr. Larry Parker II, the program is made possible through the dedication of numerous professional volunteers who consistently invest their time, knowledge, and experience into supporting local high school students. These volunteers come from a variety of career fields and serve as mentors, guest speakers, and role models for students throughout the program. LLA is also supported by current college student volunteers who help provide guidance, encouragement, and relatable insight as students prepare for their own college and career journeys.
