Lion

'King of the Jungle' is the honor given to the African lion whose roar can

 be heard for up to five miles away. 

While this magnificent creature is seen in the jungle, it most often inhabits grasslands and savannas. 

Lions live in groups, called a pride, of up to thirty cats. 

The lionesses are the primary hunters that use intelligent tactics such

 as a team approach to capturing their prey. 

It is the male that touts the prominent mane ~ a symbol of its fighting ability. 

In addition to a lion's running speed of up to 50mph, it can easily climb the trunks of trees.   

A lion will spend most of the daytime sleeping or lying around to

 conserve energy then become more active at night.  

The lion is significant to a terrestrial ecosystem such as the tropical rainforest. 

It keeps the population of large mammal herbivores under control. 

If unregulated, herds of elephants, giraffes, zebras, and hippos would significantly

 reduce vegetation and other species' food sources.  

The lion shows you how to be the king, or queen, of your life.
