Jörg Paetzold is Associate Professor of Economics at the University of Salzburg. Before joining the University of Salzburg as an Associate Professor, he worked as a visiting Post-Doc at the University of California, Berkeley. His research focuses on applied microeconometrics, in particular on issues of taxation, labor markets and health. His current and past teaching includes courses on microeconometrics, public economics, microeconomics, and economics of European Integration.
Klaus Nowotny is Associate Professor of Economics at the University of Salzburg and Senior Economist at the Austrian Institute of Economic Research (WIFO) in Vienna. His research focuses on microeconometric analyses, in particular on issues of international migration and cross-border commuting at the regional level. His current and past teaching includes courses on introductory statistics, (micro)econometrics, microeconomics, public economics, game theory and migration economics. Prior to joining PLUS in 2011 Klaus Nowotny was a full-time researcher at the Austrian Institute of Economic Research. He studied economics at the University of Linz, received his doctorate in economics from the University of Innsbruck in 2006 and his venia docendi (habilitation) in economics from the University of Salzburg in 2017.
Jakob Losert is PhD student at the Unversity of Salzburg. He received his Bachelor's degree in Economics from the Ludwig Maximilian Unversity of Munich and his Master's degree with a focus on Empirical Economics and Data Science from the University of Salzburg in 2022. Previously he received a Bachelor's degree in Guitar Artistic-Pedagogical at the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich in 2018.
