[LifeIn1Second] respects your privacy. This policy explains what data the app uses, how we process it, and the choices you have.
This policy is designed to meet Apple’s privacy expectations for App Store apps, including clear disclosure of data practices and how data is linked to the user.
[LifeIn1Second] lets you record a one-second video each day to build a “life movie.” The app:
Records video with optional audio (microphone access is requested only if you enable audio recording; otherwise, videos are silent).
Uses the rear 1× camera only (not the front camera).
Stores daily clips on your device.
Time Capsules: Allows you to record audio or write text messages that unlock on specific future dates. These messages are stored locally on your device and, if iCloud sync is enabled, in your iCloud account.
If you enable iCloud sync, your clips are also saved to your iCloud.
After you finish exporting and start a new 30-day cycle, the previous cycle’s daily clip data is auto-deleted from the app (see “Data Retention”). Time Capsules remain stored until they are unlocked and viewed, or manually deleted by uninstalling app.
We designed the app so that we do not collect personal data on our servers. Your daily clips, Time Capsules and settings are stored locally on your device, and—if you turn it on—in your iCloud account (see §4). Apple requires developers to disclose privacy practices (including third-party SDKs) in App Store Connect; we do not use third-party tracking SDKs.
User Content - Daily 1-second video clips (with optional audio) - Time Capsule messages (audio or text) - Is stored On Device; optionally iCloud (if enabled) - User Content is not linked to you; iCloud is tied to your Apple ID.
App Settings - Theme, Reminders, Darkroom Modes, Ratio, Audio Recording Preference - They live On Device and are not linked to you.
This app does not include in-app purchases or subscriptions. All features are available to all users at no additional cost.
Camera (Rear 1× only): capture daily 1-second videos. The camera is pre-initialized on app launch for instant recording when you tap the record button or press volume buttons.
Microphone (optional): record audio with your videos or create Time Capsule audio messages. Microphone access is only requested if you enable audio recording in settings or create a Time Capsule audio message. You can disable audio recording at any time in settings.
Photo Library (optional): export your finished movie to your library.
Notifications (optional): send daily reminders to record.
We don’t request Microphone permission, and the app does not record audio.
If you enable iCloud sync, your daily clips and Time Capsules will be stored in your iCloud account to keep content available across your devices signed in with the same Apple ID. iCloud uses encryption; many data types are end-to-end encrypted and others are encrypted in transit and at rest. Details are documented by Apple.
iCloud is provided by Apple. Apple is the data processor for storage in your iCloud account.
You can disable iCloud sync at any time in the app’s settings and/or iOS Settings.
Daily clips: remain on your device during the current 30-day cycle. When you finish exporting and start a new cycle, the app auto-deletes the previous cycle’s daily clips from the app’s local storage.
Time Capsules: remain stored on your device (and in iCloud if sync is enabled) until they are unlocked and viewed, or until you manually delete them. You can delete Time Capsules at any time by uninstalling the app.
iCloud copies (if enabled): remain in your iCloud until you delete them or disable sync.
Manual deletion: you can delete all clips at once by starting a new cycle (after exporting), or delete the app to remove all locally stored data.
6) Children’s Privacy
LifeIn1Second is intended for a general audience and not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has used the app, you can delete all of its stored local data by uninstalling the app. If iCloud sync was enabled, you can also remove any app-related data from your iCloud account manually.
7) International Users & Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data. Because LifeIn1Second does not operate its own servers, most user data (clips, cycle history) is stored locally on your device. You can delete a full 30-day cycle only after you export your montage and confirm the reset. If you want to stop storing your data or syncing it, you may disable iCloud sync or uninstall the app.
On-device storage benefits from iOS Data Protection.
If iCloud is enabled, your data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and many categories are end-to-end encrypted under your Apple ID; Apple details the protections in its security documentation.
Note: Apple’s specific iCloud protections and encryption model are described in Apple’s security guides. We do not control Apple’s infrastructure.
We do not use third-party advertising SDKs, cross-app tracking, or fingerprinting. If we ever add third-party code in the future, we will disclose those practices in App Store Connect and in our privacy policy.
We may update this policy as the app evolves or to comply with law and App Store requirements. We’ll change the “Last updated” date and may notify you in-app for material changes.
