On March 12, 1982, Mr. Miguel Zosa, President and General Manager of PHILPHOS (Philippine Phosphate Fertilizer Corporation), in his official function as LIDE (Leyte Industrial Development Estate) Administrator, requested the Brothers of the Christian Schools to supervise a school for the dependents of company employees. Representatives of the De La Salle Brothers met with key officials led by Mr. Zosa and Mr. Constante Ventura, President of PASAR (Philippine Associated Smelting and Refining Corporation), to discuss the project. The project proposal was submitted to Trade and Industry Minister Roberto Ongpin, who officially approved it on August 3. LIDE Learning Center, Incorporated (LLCI) was registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission on October 15, 1982. Preparation and eventual construction of classrooms followed thereafter.
