INTRODUCTION

Justification

Due to the economic crisis in Sri Lanka, many people are migrating to seek better economic opportunities. There is a significant number of people who are unemployed and in dept. This has created a situation where people are more vulnerable to human trafficking, exploitation, physical and sexual abuse, and lack of financial support. To address these issues, Building Bridges seeks to create awareness of these issues and to promote informed decision making.

Goals

Create a platform for people of different race, religion or social status to work for the betterment of the society without any limitations, barriers or discrimination.
To be a living example of harmony through our work.
To protect the vulnerable from any kind of abuse.
To create a society that is rightly informed to take rational decisions.
Cultivate hope, kindness and love in the lives we touch through our work.
Create a cycle of sharing among our society.

Methodology

Conduct awareness raising and trainings in each district.
Create societies among the trained to continue creating awareness in the community.
Build a network through these societies.
Follow ups to update and get feedback from the societies so that a two way information sharing process is created.
Develop a referral data base that includes government sector, private sector and non government sector to seek support.
