One of my favorite assignments during the Fall 2020 semester was concept mapping. I felt like this, and the K-W-L (know, want to know, learn) charts were excellent visual exercises for breaking up ideas and topics and chunking them into bite size bits of information. We were reminded again and again to connect and narrow topics, which is a very important part of researching--it's not about finding stuff these days, it is about finding the RIGHT stuff amid the massive amounts of information.
I applied the Habits of MInd characteristic "Working with Flexibility" to learn new technologies and to continue to work through errors. I often get frustrated with the new technological environment--wasn't all this technology supposed to make our lives easier? I often feel like it has only caused more difficulty and instead of simplifying our lives it has created an extra layer of work.
