Destiny is the OPAC (Online Public Access Catalog) that is used to add new books into the existing collection (catalog), check books in/out/renew (circulation), keep track of all books (inventory), and locate resources for our readers and learners. Additionally, Destiny is used to create specific reports such as overdue materials, weeding, holds/reserves, title and copy lists, top patrons, most circulated materials, collection statistics, and more. Destiny can be accessed from any computer or smartphone that has an Internet connection. Destiny allows patrons to search for materials and resources by typing in the subject, title, author, subject, or series. When patrons click on the 'details' icon, patrons can find out additional information about each book, such as reading a brief summary, number of pages, publisher, possible sequel, genre, connecting topics, Call Number, and much more.

Digital Maine Library (formally known as MARVEL - Maine's Virtual Library) has been redesigned to provide every resident of Maine with access to online resources that include a collection of full text articles and abstracts from magazines, newspapers, journals and reference. It also provides students, business people, public library patrons, and higher education students and educators the ability to use online learning tools.

Purdue Owl provides support in in-text and Works Cited (bibliography) citations, using step-by-step tutorials. Citations are shown in MLA, APA, and Chicago Style.

Grammarly is a free online writing tool that checks papers as they are written for spelling, grammar, punctuation, sentence structure, and more. The free version allows for a browser extension, which will also check emails as they are being typed.

Dictionary and Thesaurus supplies the definition and pronunciation of unknown words, as well as various synonyms to replace everyday commonly used words.

Quizlet is an interactive online resource that provides thousands of flashcards for various subjects; Language & Vocabulary, Math & Science, History & Geography, Arts & Literature, and even ones for standardized tests such as the SAT, AP, and LSAT. Each category is broken down to specific content areas to give you detailed classes, roots, suffixes, definitions, derivatives, and more. Students can enable the sound on each flashcard to listen to how each word and/or phrase is stated.

Khan Academy is a free online resource that provides academic instruction and supplementary practice exercises. Students and teachers can view demonstrations of various lessons through short video clips, similar to those on YouTube. Content can be broken down into various subject matter and/or grade level. Academia.edu is a platform for academics to share research papers. The company's mission is to accelerate the world's research. Academics use Academia.edu to share their research, monitor deep analytics around the impact of their research, and track the research of academics they follow. Over 55 million academics have signed up to Academia.edu, adding 19 million papers. Academia.edu attracts over 36 million unique visitors a month.

Google Scholar is a refined search engine that provides inquiry-based results from scholarly, academic, professional, and peer-reviewed journals and articles.

Britannica Kids Dictionary is a kid-friendly online dictionary that will showcase the meanings of words using simple kid terms. It gives the parts of speech, an example for each meaning (definition), and also an audio clip of how the word is pronounced.

Fact Monster is a free reference site that is geared towards students between the ages of 8-14 with the following categories to browse through; World, United States, People, Sports, Science, Math & Money, Word Wise, and Homework Center (which provides interactive flashcards, quizzes, and study guides). Students can locate facts, references, statistics, and historical records all in one location. Fact Monster has a built in Almanac, Dictionary, Thesaurus, and Encyclopedia - which pulls its information from The Time for Kids Almanac, The Columbia Electronic Encyclopedia, InfoPlease Dictionary (based on the Random House Webster's Unbridged Dictionary), and The InfoPlease Atlas (taken directly from Magellan Geographix).

Kid Rex is a kid-friendly and kid-safe search engine powered by Google. Kids as young as five can type in a subject or topic to locate information on or a friendly picture/image to be shown.

Kids Search is a safe search engine for children. Using Google's Safe Search technology and advanced filtering tools on web content, children are offered kid friendly links through its directory. Each site is peer-reviewed for age appropriate content, usefulness, and fun.

Ducksters is an educational website designed with kids in mind. The content includes categories of History, Science, Geography, Biography, and more. Each category has multiple subcategories, allowing students to click through to learn tons and tons of information and new facts. The language is elementary level (K-5th grade) and the website is easy to navigate through.

Kiddle, KidzSearch Safe Image, Pics4Learning, and Kids Search for Pictures are four safe sites that kids can use to search for images without worrying about having inappropriate content popping up or being shown. Each one uses a filter through Google Images that safely removes older content making this age friendly to younger learners.
