Adaptive Calorie is a calorie and weight-tracking app that sets a daily calorie target and adjusts it over time based on your own logged weigh-ins and intake, rather than a fixed formula. It's built and maintained by a single independent developer, not a company. This page explains what data the app touches and why.
The app does not require you to create an account, sign in, or provide any personal information to use it. The first time you open the app, you set up a profile (age, sex, height, starting weight, activity level, and goal) that's used only to calculate your target — it never leaves your device.
Adaptive Calorie does not request the Android INTERNET permission at all. The app cannot make network requests even if it wanted to — every calculation, every log entry, and every setting is read from and written to a single local file in the app's own private storage on your device. There is no server operated by the developer, and no cloud sync of any kind.
Weigh-ins, calorie and macro (protein/carb/fat) intake, and workouts are stored locally on your device only. If you turn them on in Settings, two additional optional logs work the same way: a medication dose log (for example, for GLP-1 medications) and an intermittent fasting timer. Both are off by default and hidden until you explicitly enable them, and turning either back off just hides the feature again — it never deletes anything you've already logged. None of this data is uploaded to, or accessible from, any server operated by the developer.
Because the app doesn't run its own separate backup system, your phone's standard Android backup (Settings > System > Backup on your device, tied to your own Google account) may include this app's local data if you have that setting turned on. That backup is controlled entirely by you and Google — the developer has no access to it.
Adaptive Calorie can optionally remind you to log a weigh-in or intake entry, and remind you weekly about your next medication dose if you use that log. Both are off by default and must be turned on in Settings. The in-app banner reminder needs no permission and never leaves the app. The optional daily/weekly system notification requires Android's notification permission, which the app only requests the moment you turn that specific option on — never on launch, and never for something you didn't ask for. If you allow it, the app may also ask your phone's permission to ignore battery optimizations, solely so the scheduled notification isn't silently blocked by your phone's power-saving settings; this is only requested if you've turned a notification on and your phone reports it as restricted.
If you add the optional home-screen widget, it reads the same local data file directly on your device to show today's remaining calorie budget. It makes no network requests and requires no additional permission or account.
You can export your data to a file using your device's own share sheet, and import weigh-ins or intake from a CSV file using your device's own file picker. Both actions happen entirely on your device — the developer never receives, sees, or has access to any file you export or import.
Adaptive Calorie offers a single one-time purchase to unlock the full app. This purchase is processed entirely through Google Play Billing. The developer never sees or stores your payment details (card number, billing address, etc.) — those are handled directly by Google Play under Google's own privacy policy. The app stores, only on your device, whether you've completed the purchase, so the unlock persists.
This app contains no advertising SDKs and no analytics or tracking SDKs of any kind. Nothing about your usage of the app is collected or transmitted for advertising or analytics purposes.
The developer does not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties. The only data that leaves your device is what Google Play itself requires to process a purchase, as described above.
Adaptive Calorie is not directed at children and is not designed to collect personal information from children.
This policy may be updated from time to time. Continued use of the app after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
