We spent three days in Bayfield and Ashland, rock-hunting, photographing, and fishing. This part of the trip was wonderful, as both Mark and I love these areas. Lake Namakagon in the Chequamegon National Forest is well-documented in earlier posts on this blog. We absolutely love the lake. It's beauty and pristine wilderness is unsurpassed. This post will be relatively short, highlighting some great photos and down-playing the accommodations we had at the lake this time. We rented 2 cabins on Lake Namakagon for son and daughter-in-law with our two grandbabies to be right next to us! The grounds of this 'resort' are beautiful - wide sandy beach, nice docks, a playground. But the cabins were not up to our standards to say the least! But we made the best of the week!
The best parts: being right next door to the grandbabies, and seeing the amazing northern lights display from the beach on Lake Namakagon. See all the photos below!
