Shawn was born in June 2000 in Kerala, India. He completed his Bachelor's degree (2021) from Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, India and Master's (2024) from Cochin University of Science and Technology, Kochi, India. He completed his Master's dissertation on “A Metal-free N-Sulfonylation of NH-Sulfoximines aided by Burgess Reagent” under the supervision of Dr M. Muthukrishnan at CSIR-NCL, Pune. He then worked as a Project Associate-I at CSIR-NCL, Pune (up to June 2025), developing methodologies for the chemical upcycling of post-consumer polymers into value-added chemicals under the supervision of Dr Nagaraju Barsu. He then joined Prof.Liao’s group as a TEEP Research Intern in March 2026. In his leisure time, he likes playing badminton and watching movies.
