Risa was born in 2004 in Japan, and she is currently pursuing a B.S. degree in Chemistry with minors in Mathematics and Music at the University of Rochester. 

In the summer of 2024, she has joined the Liao group as a research intern under the University of Rochester Summer Internship Grant. 

Outside of the classroom, she can be found practicing the piano, reading mystery books, or watching cat videos.
