The Asymptites were cancerous nationalists and a member of The 44 Peoples. They were actually one of the first of the Peoples, their creation coinciding with the arrival of Ouranos The Dreamer, the first of the Arbiters who would become revered as gods on Eranosia. When Ouranos arrived and his divine radiance pierced through the southern auroras of the Fréas territory, the cosmic radiation quickly resulted in self-aware leukemic tumors that grew out of the local wildlife and rapidly evolved into their own beings called Asymptites.
Asymptites appeared very similar to humans, although humans would not be created until the 3rd Dispensation. Their skin was white as snow and completely opaque, as Asymptites did not have any flowing blood. Asymptite bones were hollow and light, but Asymptite muscles were significantly more powerful than their human equivalent. Asymptites eyes were very brightly colored and their tears would be the same color as their iris. Injuries and abrasions could not heal naturally without medication, but once treated the wounds could repair quite rapidly. Asymptite hair was almost always jet black and did not grow back when cut. Asymptites were also highly susceptible to changes in climate and began to suffer catastrophic physical breakdown when exposed to temperatures above 0 degrees Celsius.
Asymptite metabolism was quick and simple. Their diet consisted exclusively of simple carbohydrates that were easy to digest and obtain energy from. Fruits were considered a delicacy to them because of their scarcity so far south, leading to an elite culinary culture, where preserved, imported, or greenhouse-grown fruit symbolized status and divine favor. The fat and proteins present in meat did not play well with an Asymptite’s body, which got trapped and blocked their vital functions. If they ate too much meat, which was only more than 20 grams or so, they would risk incredible discomfort and permanent internal trauma.
The Asymptites could only reproduce once in their lifetime, and could only form at most two children. Due to this, the Asymptite mating ritual for finding a mate could take decades to ensure their partner is their one true love. The reproduction process was called klonopotosis, resulting in the child being an identical clone to the owner of the dominant gamete. To avoid confusion and allow the child their own personal identity, the non-dominant parent contributed non-genetic yet essential morphic influence, shaping the child’s gendered characteristics. Asymptites did not have biological sexes, but their bodies would shift into traditional masculine and feminine forms based on collective psychological perceptions from both the individual and their community.
Before the mid-6th Dispensation, the Asymptites homeland of Fréas was divided into dozens of holds, each one made up of many villages and ruled by a noble leader called a sagamore. The villages, known as paiscús, were often built below ground to protect the villages from wildlife and warmer climate. The entire political landscape changed when Lord General Helder took over as ruler of the entire land and unifying it into the nation of Apex Fréas. Apex Fréas was highly authoritarian with an emphasis on isolation andself-reliance. At the end of the 6th Dispensation, Helder would lead a genocide campaign to eliminate the human race and the Holy Eavonian Confederation, a conflict known as the Solstice War which lasted for 1000 trisolars.
