Millennial Tea Origins · Tang Dynasty Legacy
At the birthplace of "The Classic of Tea" by Lu Yu—Daxiong Gong Tea Garden in Huzhou—we embarked on a pilgrimage through a thousand years of tea culture. Strolling through the Tang-style imperial tea complex nestled in the mountains, we personally experienced:
Tang Court Tea Ceremony: Brewing tribute Zisun tea using authentically reconstructed gilded silver tea sets, following ancient methods from "The Classic of Tea"
Exploration of the Tribute Tea Trail: Walking along the original Tang Dynasty stone-paved path used to transport imperial tea, discovering ancient tea tree groves

Night mooring at Nanxun, drifting off to sleep by the water
As night falls, Nanxun Ancient Town gradually lights up with a warm glow. Red lanterns along the riverbanks reflect on the water, swaying gently with the ripples. The bluestone-paved paths shimmer faintly under the moonlight, while the silhouettes of the old houses appear especially graceful in the darkness.
We stroll leisurely along the river, stopping now and then to sample local snacks. Freshly made pastries give off an enticing aroma, and the steaming glutinous rice balls melt softly in the mouth with a sweet, chewy texture. When tired, we settle into a quaint riverside teahouse, savoring traditional treats while admiring the flickering lights across the water.
As the night deepens, the crowds thin. Nanxun grows even more serene, broken only by the occasional dip of an oar or distant murmurs of conversation. The lanterns' glow envelops the entire canal, as if we’ve stepped into an ink-wash painting.

Tiaoxi Thatched Cottage
We went to Tiaoxi Thatched Cottage with the professor to drink tea. The cottage was by the lake, with white walls and black tiles, surrounded by a serene and tranquil atmosphere. We sat by the window and ordered a pot of Anji white tea, with a lotus pond right outside the window.
The lotus flowers had just begun to bloom, their pink blossoms emerging from the green leaves, and occasionally a dragonfly would flit by, creating tiny ripples on the water. The owner of the cottage said that half-opened lotus flowers were the most charming and even shared stories with us about ancient scholars using lotus petals as stationery and brewing floral dew.
