Welcome to the S2RI Lab!
Our group is based at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. We are dedicated to advancing the safety, efficiency, and sustainability of modern infrastructure and transportation systems through smart sensing technologies, artificial intelligence (AI), and digital twins. Our research integrates cutting-edge structural health monitoring (SHM), nondestructive testing and evaluation (NDT&E), transportation analytics, and predictive modeling to develop innovative solutions for assessing, monitoring, and enhancing civil and transportation infrastructure performance.
We maintain close collaborations with U.S. Department of Energy National Laboratories, leading industry partners, academic institutions, and government agencies. Through these partnerships, we aim to translate fundamental research into practical, transformative technologies that redefine how critical infrastructure systems are monitored, maintained, and sustained.
